I got quite a lot of commission prelims done today so I decided to do something for my own amusement. I noticed that my gallery's been looking a bit colorless lately, I also haven't worked with pencil crayons in an ass long time. They're my best medium and also really, really easy to use. I zone out when I work with them, whereas I have to concentrate so much when I do any form of digital.

SO I DID THIS.

I don't know what it is, but my scanner raped it. I salvaged the color with GIMP and managed to get it looking pretty close to what it does irl, except the background, it looks a lot better in person 8/. Yup!

1 hour. Faber-Castell Student Range colored pencils, 1.0 black fineliner.

I'm a big supporter of traditional art. My opinion is that digital painting gives the artwork a professional look, but it looks too plastic... It just doesn't give it the warmth you get when you do it with your hand. And this work shows just how much it's, in a way, true. Awesome job =) :heart:

(I'm not saying that digi colouring is bad, but... Oh god, I don't know how to explain it ^^; you know what I mean, right?)

And scanners ALWAYS change the artwork for the worse -.-;
